WD Icons

Now available as a service, WX-Host is providing a simple dynamic content button that supports the use of Weather-Display. Each Icon is individual and picks up the attributes of the sites by obtaining the sites clientraw.txt file, once every 15 minutes and dynamically regenerating a static image that the site can then use.

Each icon contains the sites location, current time obtained from their clientraw.txt file and the currently listed temperature of that as it was reported.

The background of the icons are determined by the temperature listed for that client and is broken up into 5 different color shades with breaks at below 0°F, above 0°F but below 32°F, Above 32°F but below 80°F, Above 80°F but below 105°F and above 105°F.

Note that this service is ONLY available currently to sites using Weather-Display that are or can upload their clientraw.txt file to a website where our service can pick it up. Currently, we have no means of providing an upload location.

Terms of Service

This service is provided by WX-Host.com a company of TNET Services, Inc. for a period of 6 months at a time for the price of $5.00US. This service requires that access to the Weather Display Clientraw.txt main file be obtainable from the client's webhost and that a sample of that file be obtained aproximately once every 15 minutes.

The service will then generate and make available an icon or icons with a fixed URL to the Wx-Host.com server that the client can then use on their own hosts, forums or where ever they choose.

Note that this process is subject to the day to day operations of the Internet of which many parts are no under the control of WX-Host.com and which may cause interruptions that it has no control over.

This service assumes a typical hit rate of between 10k and 15k per month. Icons that have hit rates of higher than 50k per month are subject to cancelation due to excessive usage.

Each account needs to provide the following basic information:

• Description of the Location
• Full path to the URL that points at the clientraw.txt file
• Preferred Email address
